Most of our dancers performed at the annual dance exams last week. The examiner this year was Myra Miller from Scotland and she had lots of praise for the teaching program that we provide to our dancing students. Medal tests offer a great opportunity for our students to work each year towards the next level of test. Students receive written feedback as well as a medal and certificate from the Scottish Dance Teachers’ Alliance (a worldwide teaching body of Highland Dancing). The group of dancers in this photo are ready to perform the Scottish Lilt – one of the National exams. Other dances examined include the Highland Fling, Sword Dance, Sailor’s Hornpipe and many other traditional highland dances. A few students also completed theory exams. The dancers are looking forward to receiving their medals at the spring concert in June.
