Rob Roy hosted the annual Burns Dinner at the Rideau Acres Event Hall on January 19, 2013. The dinner was the best yet! The hall was stunningly prepared by Leslie Stewart and her army of helpers. The food was outstanding as expected; prepared and served by Bill Allinson and his Western Cuts staff.
The presiding master of ceremonies was Jim Campbell who did an excellent job of keeping to schedule.
The evening began with a few numbers by the Rob Roy Pipe Band and Highland Dancers.
Rick Hamilton performed a rousing Address to the Haggis…from memory.
Kent Stewart entertained the crowd with a somewhat unconventional speech to The Immortal Memory.
Michael MacDonald raised the hackles of nearly every female in the hall with his Toast to the Lassies.
And of course the ladies responded with a spirited if not scathing review by Devon Massouh and Bekah Massouh-Van Gurp.
The evening closed with talented music and dance by an energetic and fun loving audience.
Thanks to all those who participated and especially to Leslie for making it all happen so perfectly.
